Hello from all of us at Lifeplan! What a strange year it’s been. Definitely not the year we were expecting that’s for sure. We really hope that you and yours have been able to stay safe and well through these uncertain and difficult times.
While COVID-19 didn’t exactly come out of the blue it has certainly had a huge impact for the whole country. Like everyone, we have had to adapt really quickly and change how we live, work together and continue to operate here at Lifeplan.
Ever since we first became aware of pandemic, we began to take the necessary steps to make sure we were as prepared as we could be. However, as many of you will identify with, there were so many unknowns we found it a very challenging time with difficult decisions having to be made.
The safety of our staff was our biggest priority and so we reduced our team to the bare minimum following the Government guidelines. Being part of the supply chain for health food stores, we were very fortunate to be able to remain open and so with the help and support of the whole team – those who volunteered to stay on site and those who we asked to stay at home - we continued to operate through the lockdown.
We had to change a lot of our processes with extra cleaning, working socially distanced and on rota systems, staggering shift patterns and breaks, wearing PPE and so on. The team did an amazing job getting to grips with this new way of working.
We feel privileged to have been able to continue supplying vitamin and mineral supplements to our customers during a time when so many people naturally turned to them. Our partners in the health food trade all reported a surge in demand for products, particularly those vitamin and minerals that support the immune system and we experienced similar ourselves through our own website.
Over the past few weeks, we have begun to get a little normality back to Lifeplan and have welcomed back most of our staff although we are still practicing social distancing and working from home where possible. We are very excited to be once again working on expanding our range and formulating new products that we will bring you over the next few months.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank all of our staff who supported us during this time. We are looking forward positively and we are grateful to have an extraordinary team to do that with.
There’s also one more thing that we would like to say for now which is a huge thank you to all the NHS staff and key workers who have sacrificed so much over so many weeks to keep us safe and the country running during the pandemic.
