Apple Cider Vinegar capsules
Wednesday 16th 2019f January 2019

What is Apple Cider Vinegar?

Historically vinegar has been used since 5000BC by the Babylonians and 3000BC by the Egyptians.  In 400BC in ancient Greece, Hippocrates began to prescribe a mixture of apple cider vinegar and honey for a variety of health confitions including coughs and colds.  In modern history it was used primarily as an antiseptic and also as a way to ward off the Bubonic plague.

So Apple cider vinegar has been produced for centuries and it is made from apples which have been crushed and squeezed.  Bacteria are added to this liquid which ferments the natural sugars in the apple and turns them into alcohol.

This then undergoes another conversion into acetic and malic acids, which turns the liquid into vinegar and gives the product its distinguishable sour taste.

These acids, even when diluted in water can be harmful to the teeth and oesophagus, which is why taking apple cider vinegar in a capsule form is the safest way to take this product.

Why add Chloride?

Chloride is one of the major minerals in the body, found predominantly in blood fluids. It is an essential component of hydrochloric acid, which is the main constituent in gastric juice. This acid in the stomach is necessary for the proper digestion, particularly of proteins and the absorption of amino acids. The absorption of certain nutrients is also dependent upon sufficient stomach acid.

Maintaining a pH of 1-2, stomach acid also acts as an important barrier against micro-organisms, preventing infections.

Low levels of stomach acid over time can lead to nutritional deficiencies, including Vitamin B12, Iron and Calcium.  Symptoms of low stomach acid can be:

Bloating, belching and wind after meals

Feel full after eating

Indigestion/heartburn/acid reflux

Diarrhoea and/or constipation

Nausea
